Is Our Dulce de Leche the Best Thing You Ever Ate?

The wet and cold weather in San Diego recently has made me start thinking about the fact that the holidays are just around the corner.  We go to great lengths to make sure our stores celebrate the season with our menu, décor, and gift items.

One of the most popular items that we feature regularly on our menu is the chocolaty Dulce de Leche cake.  It features a crunchy milk chocolate confection that separates creamy chocolate mousse and chocolate cake layers before being topped with dulce de leche.

Dulce de Leche from Extraordinary Desserts

This delicious cake will be featured on the Food Network’s “The Best Thing I Ever Ate!” show.  Marcela Valladolid, who hosts the popular “Mexican Made Easy” show on the Food Network, is a regular visitor to our Union Street location, and the last time she came, she brought a camera crew.  It will air on Monday, November 1 at 9 pm/8c, so tune in or set your DVR.

Thank you to Marcela and the Food Network.  We can’t wait to see it featured and we anticipate having this delicious cake ready to serve for those coming in to experience the cake for the first time.

This brings up the question: what is the best thing you ever ate at Extraordinary Desserts?

  1. I visited San Diego once – we stopped in and got the Bread Pudding and a couple other desserts. I’ve been to myriad Michelin 2 and 3 Star restaurants on both coasts and many great places betwee. It is STILL the best dessert I’ve ever eaten.
