I am so excited that Extraordinary Desserts was featured on the Food Network show “The Best Thing I Ever Ate.” The episode featured our Dulce de Leche Cake and the response has been amazing, as people are coming from all over the U.S. and taking desserts home to their friends and family. Thank you, Marcela for the exposure.
On our Facebook page, we are asking fans to submit videos and photos with stories about the Best Thing They Ever Ate at Extraordinary Desserts. We’ve gotten some entertaining and touching responses thus far, so please visit to see them and share yours with us.
In that spirit, it’s only fair that I share some my family’s “Best Things.”
Considering that I am always striving to create new desserts for our menu, it shouldn’t be a surprise that the “Best Thing” for me is something that is brand new and just starting to be served at both locations, the Dulce de Leche Cheesecake. This cheesecake screams of caramel, creaminess, and it has a buttery, crunchy, graham cracker, pecan crust. With its recent debut, some of our staff is quickly calling it a favorite, and therefore I have added it to our holiday menus.
My husband loves the Passion Fruit Ricotta Cake. It was the first cake he tried when we met. He had never heard about Extraordinary Desserts before I came into his life – poor guy. Since then, he’s tried countless desserts, cakes, and other treats, as he has been my #1 tester for new ideas and menu items for the past 10 years – lucky guy. His first taste of Extraordinary Desserts has remained his best, which I understand as that happens with many of our clients.
My daughter’s “Best Thing” is strawberry ice cream with whipped cream and pink rose petals. “The strawberries are good in it and it tastes pink. It makes girls very happy,” she said.
Our celebration of “The Best Thing I Ever Ate” will continue through the month of November, and I hope that everyone will come in and join us.
